The more expenses that you have for reimbursable medicine, the more reimbursement you will receive within a period of one year (the reimbursement period).
But the size of reimbursement also depends on whether you are younger or older than 18 at the start of the reimbursement period.
The thresholds in table below are effective from 1 January 2013 to 31 December 2013.
The one-year reimbursement period starts when you buy reimbursable medicine for the first time after the expiry of the preceding period.
Table 1 below shows the relationship between the size of reimbursement and your total annual expenditure for reimbursable medicine before deduction of reimbursement.

Example
Your previous reimbursement period expires on 25 January 2013. The next time you buy medicine eligible for reimbursement is 15 June 2013, which marks the beginning of your new reimbursement period. The reimbursement period therefore expires on 14 June 2014.
