Pharmaceutical wholesalers must inform the Danish Health and Medicines Authority if they are unable to supply product numbers included on the current list of prices etc. of medicines ('Medicine Prices').
We use the information to set new reimbursement prices for groups in which the cheapest medicine cannot be supplied. This takes place on a daily basis.
How to report a supply failure
Wholesalers must notify the Danish Health and Medicines Authority of supply failure by means of an XML file. You can see an example of such an XML file from the box to the right (in Danish only).
The XML file must be sent by email to email@example.com before noon on working days.
If a medicine has been subject to supply failure for at least three days
If a medicine has been subject to supply failure from at least two wholesalers for at least three days, we will contact the pharmaceutical representative through DKMAnet - Prices & Packages. Our letter is sent 24 days before the update of 'Medicine Prices' in which a new price period becomes effective.
The company must then, no later than 14 days before the updates become effective, notify its supply capacity, i.e. document that it is capable of fully supplying the medicine. If the company fails to document this, the medicine will be removed from the list when 'Medicine Prices' is updated the next time.
When the company is ready to supply the medicine again, it must send a notification through DKMAnet - Prices & Packages, following which the product number is included on the list of prices of medicines ('Medicine Prices').
