Stop using Hydroxycut pills, powder and capsules and talk to your doctor about possible side effects or symptoms of liver damage (jaundice, darkening of urine, nausea, vomiting, light-coloured stools, excessive fatigue, stomach or abdominal pain, itching and loss of appetite). This is the warning to consumers that was published jointly by the Danish Medicines Agency and the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration after the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had received 23 reports of serious side effects from these weight-reducing and energy-enhancing products. The products are sold under the brand names "Iovate" and "MuscleTech" (manufactured in the USA by Iovate Health Sciences Inc., of Oakville, Ontario and distributed by Iovate Health Sciences USA Inc. of Blasdell, N.Y.).
Warning comes from the US Food and Drug Administration
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued the warning against using Hydroxycut products due to serious health risks. The FDA has received 23 reports of serious health problems - among them jaundice and elevated liver enzymes (an indicator of potential liver injury), serious liver damage requiring liver transplant and one death due to liver failure.
Hydroxycut products are governed by the Danish Medicines Act or the Danish Food Act
Certain Hydroxycut products fall under the Danish Medicines Act while other products fall under the Danish Food Act.
The Danish Medicines Agency and the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration have no knowledge of any products having been sold illegally in Denmark. The products are typically sold via foreign websites, and there is a chance that Danish consumers may have bought Hydroxycut products on the internet or during visits abroad.

The Danish Medicines Agency and the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration advise consumers to be careful if they buy medicines and food supplements via foreign websites. These websites are not subject to control by Danish authorities.
