The many cases of scabies all over Denmark has led to a lack of the medicine, Nix, which is authorised for scabies treatment in Denmark. In cooperation with the Association of Danish Pharmacies and the Danish Medicines Agency, the importer has come up with a solution which will ensure relief this week.
On Monday 12 January, 3,000 tubes of the product Nix creme 5 % will arrive from Finland. This shipment will then be distributed and should be available at pharmacies on Wednesday or Thursday. During this week, another 16,200 tubes will arrive in Denmark, and they should be available at pharmacies at the beginning of next week, which should ensure treatment for all people currently suffering from scabies.
If there is no Danish package leaflet in the package, the pharmacy will print out a leaflet and hand it over to the consumer. The package leaflet is also available at our website indlaegsseddel.dk – via the link in the factbox to the right (in Danish only).
