The New Zealand Medicines and Medical Devices Safety Authority (Medsafe) has found four products containing the active substances tadalafil, sildenafil or sibutramine without this appearing on the packets. The products are sold on the internet and the Danish Medicines Agency is aware that the product labelled “VG” has been imported to Denmark.
These are the products concerned:
- Yixinjiaonang capsules (contains tadalafil)
- Meng Rong capsules (contains sildenafil)
- Unnamed product labelled “VG” (contains sildenafil)
- Reduce Weight (contains sibutramine).
Usually, tadalafil and sildenafil are used for treatment of erectile dysfunction, while sibutramine reduces appetite.
You can read the entire warning from Medsafe on its website via the link in the fact box to the right.
The Danish Medicines Agency urges people who have bought any of the products to stop using them and hand in the remains at a pharmacy.
