Premix is a mixture containing one or more active substances and is solely intended to be mixed into large quantities of animal feed for production animals.
Premix exist either as a powder or in granulate form. Premix must always be mixed with animal feed before use. The mixing must only take place at a feed mill authorised by the Danish Health and Medicines Authority. The result of this mixture of premix and feed is called medicated feed.
Premix is a prescription-only medicinal product (dispensing group: premix). Premix can only be handed out to feed mills authorised by the Danish Health and Medicines Authority to manufacture medicated feed.
