Nordic Market for Medicinal Products

/News - miscellaneous

Availability of medicinal products in small markets is an issue that has been repeatedly on the agenda of EEA countries. A Nordic working group has therefore been formed to explore the possibilities of a common Nordic market for medicinal products.

One of the working group's first initiatives includes a pilot project with the participation of Sweden and Iceland. The focus of the project is to enhance the cooperation between the countries in connection with the approval of medicinal products within the Decentralised and Mutual Recognition procedures.

Read the press release about the pilot project in the factbox to the right.

The members of the Nordic working group are:

  • Rannveig Gunnarsdóttir, Iceland, chairman,
  • Ingolf J. Petersen, Iceland,
  • Anna Skat Nielsen, Denmark
  • Mette Aaboe Hansen, Denmark
  • Paul Schüder, Denmark
  • Pekka Järvinen, Finland
  • Gro Ramsten Wesenberg, Norway
  • Christer Backman, Sweden.
