Organisational change at the Danish Medicines Agency

/About us

As of 1 January 2009, the Danish Medicines Agency implements an organisational change which entails that the Pharmacoeconomic Division will be closed down. The tasks previously managed by the Pharmacoeconomic Division will be solved elsewhere in the Danish Medicines Agency in the future:

  • The Statistics & Analysis department, which is responsible for the Register of Medicinal Product Statistics as well as for drawing up analyses of medicine consumption, will be moved to the Inspection, Laboratories & Enforcement division. At the same time, the division will change its name to Inspection, Laboratory, Enforcement & Statistics.
  • The Reimbursement department, which is responsible for the entire medicine reimbursement area, will be moved to the Executive Secretariat.
  • The area Medicine Prices, which receives and processes information about medicine prices and supply shortages, will be moved to the Licensing Division.
  • The responsibility for the Danish Medicines Agency’s so-called real time systems, including the Medicine Profile and the electronic medicine card, will be placed in a new project office named Medicine IT in Denmark (MIT). This project office refers directly to the Danish Medicines Agency’s Chief Executive Officer.

For further information, please contact Chief Adviser Karsten Jørgensen, tel.: +45 4488 9615 or e-mail: kj@dkma.dk.
