Consultants on pharmacy licensing
The Danish Medicines Agency consults the Danish Pharmacopoeia Commission on cases involving the requirements for the quality of medicinal products.
The consultants function as an advisory body for the Danish Medicines Agency in cases concerning the granting of pharmacy licences.
There are three consultants who are appointed for a period of four years by the Minister of the Interior and Health upon the recommendation of the Association of Danish Pharmacists, the Association of Danish Pharmacy Technicians and the Danish Pharmaceutical Association.
In cases concerning the appointment of hospital pharmacists, the Danish Medicines Agency confers with two consultants, who are appointed upon the recommendation of the Association of Danish Pharmacists, the Association of Danish Pharmacy Technicians as well as a consultant. This consultant must be employee at a hospital pharmacy and appointed by the Minister for the Interior and Health for a period of four years upon the joint recommendation of the owners of hospital pharmacies.
